CMM Specialist - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting a CMM Quality Assurance Specialist to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. The position requires the candidate to be skilled at setting up and operating CMM and conventional inspection devices used for verification of precision metal parts and fixtures as specified on travelers, blueprints, drawing, templates, 3D models or pre-existing machine programs.  The position will require full operational capabilities with a Zeiss CMM and other metrology devices.  The successful candidate will be proficient at GD&T, capable of thriving in an ISO9001:2015/AS9100D environment, be responsible and professional.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Qualified candidate must have a strong working knowledge of metrology and measurement techniques and tools including calipers, micrometers, Height Gages, optical comparators, bore gages, gage pins, gage blocks etc…
  • Candidate must have (5) years of experience setting up and programming Zeiss CMM’s and be fluent in Calypso and Curve.
  • Excellent knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T 
  • Calibration experience a plus
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Good math skills
  • ASQ certifications such as CQIA, CQI, CCT are desirable
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willing to learn new skills when needed and assist in all areas of production
  • Internal auditing skills a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO / AS9100 a plus
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO/AS9100 Quality systems

Coating Technician - Thermal Spray - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting an entry level Coating Technician to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. This position requires the candidate learn how to perform surface prep and coating activities in support of the application of Plastisol onto a variety of sophisticated components.  This position will also involve detailed masking, grit blasting, application of primer, the use of commercial batch ovens, inspection equipment, and other work as assigned by the Fabrication Lead or General Manager in a timely manner.  This staff member will work in an ISO/AS9100 environment and will closely follow work instructions, process specifications, and work within local, state and federal environmental, health and safety programs to ensure staff safety.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review work instructions to verify areas to be cleaned, masked, grit blasted and coated.  Confirm all requirements prior to start of work
  • Perform Plastisol coating application per work instructions
  • Record all applicable data per work instructions
  • Ask Supervisor if unsure of work assignments
  • Report parts of poor quality to Supervision
  • Obtain the materials necessary to perform job 
  • Appropriate use and maintenance of mask materials
  • Keep the work area neat and orderly at all times
  • Return any supplies not used to appropriate area
  • Report to the Supervisor when work assignment is completed
  • Provide general part degreasing, masking and grit blasting
  • Operate various equipment upon completion of training
  • Work with Quality Management on manufacturing issues, inspection criteria, audits and resolution of findings 
  • Maintain strict document control standards and quality policy compliance 
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO/AS9100 Quality systems
  • Perform other duties as requested

Manufacturing Engineer - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. This position requires experience in multiple areas of aerospace engineering focused in a production development environment.  The successful candidate will be involved in all activities from R&D, design, procurement, manufacturing and production, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.  Strong knowledge and experience with SolidWorks, GD&T, fabrication of precision metal parts using multi-axis CNC machine tools and process optimization is required.  The position will also require great communication and organizational skills.  The successful candidate will be a responsible professional, a self-motivated leader who is capable of thriving in an ISO9001:2015/AS9100D environment.


Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Manufacturing Engineering
  • CNC Machining education and proven experience
  • Experience in production planning, fixture design, tooling and manufacturing
  • Experience in process logistics

Machinist I - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting an Machinist I / Entry Level Machinist to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. The position requires the candidate to be knowledgeable of setting up and operating both conventional and CNC Lathes, Mills, and/or other machines used for cutting, drilling, milling and boring to produce precision aerospace parts and fixtures as specified on travelers, blueprints, drawing, templates, 3D models or pre-existing machine programs.  The position may require executing simple programs on CNC Lathes and Mills using software systems such as Esprit or MasterCam. The successful candidate will have some basic knowledge of GD&T requirements and is comfortable working in an ISO2001:9008/AS9100C environment.  ES3 rewards staff members who are responsible, professional and have an excellent work ethic.


Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma and previous OJT training, Technical Programs or Certifications of Technical Training 
  •  2 Year’s Experience hands-on-experience with machine tool operations. Trade school or specific education can be contributed towards the 2 years required experience
  • Must have a general working knowledge of manual machining or NC and CNC multi-axis machines using pre-existing programs 
  • Knowledge and limited experience using Esprit or MasterCam software 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, adhere to written procedures and experience with ISO/AS9100 requirements, standards, and compliance issues
  • Must have some working knowledge of engineering prints including geometric dimensioning and tolerances
