CMM Specialist - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting a CMM Quality Assurance Specialist to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. The position requires the candidate to be skilled at setting up and operating CMM and conventional inspection devices used for verification of precision metal parts and fixtures as specified on travelers, blueprints, drawing, templates, 3D models or pre-existing machine programs.  The position will require full operational capabilities with a Zeiss CMM and other metrology devices.  The successful candidate will be proficient at GD&T, capable of thriving in an ISO9001:2015/AS9100D environment, be responsible and professional.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Qualified candidate must have a strong working knowledge of metrology and measurement techniques and tools including calipers, micrometers, Height Gages, optical comparators, bore gages, gage pins, gage blocks etc…
  • Candidate must have (5) years of experience setting up and programming Zeiss CMM’s and be fluent in Calypso and Curve.
  • Excellent knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T 
  • Calibration experience a plus
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Good math skills
  • ASQ certifications such as CQIA, CQI, CCT are desirable
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willing to learn new skills when needed and assist in all areas of production
  • Internal auditing skills a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO / AS9100 a plus
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO/AS9100 Quality systems

Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma and typically requires a 2 years Technical/Trade school training or equivalent 
  • Preferred OJT training, Technical Programs or Certifications of Technical Training 
  • 5 years hands-on-experience with CMM programming and inspection methods

Manufacturing Engineer - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. This position requires experience in multiple areas of aerospace engineering focused in a production development environment.  The successful candidate will be involved in all activities from R&D, design, procurement, manufacturing and production, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.  Strong knowledge and experience with SolidWorks, GD&T, fabrication of precision metal parts using multi-axis CNC machine tools and process optimization is required.  The position will also require great communication and organizational skills.  The successful candidate will be a responsible professional, a self-motivated leader who is capable of thriving in an ISO9001:2015/AS9100D environment.


Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Manufacturing Engineering
  • CNC Machining education and proven experience
  • Experience in production planning, fixture design, tooling and manufacturing
  • Experience in process logistics

Senior Sheet Metal Mechanic - Warner Robins, GA (Short Term)

General Summary

ES3 is seeking a senior level Sheet Metal Mechanic to perform assessment, fabrication, layout, and installation of various metal surfaces to aircraft structures.  The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting types of sheet metal or nonmetallic materials for appropriate use in large military aircraft overhaul assignments.  He or she must utilize best practices and demonstrate the ability to complete tasks according to layouts, blueprints, or technical manuals and work orders.  The successful candidate must be able to accomplish all sheet metal mechanic duties and aide entry level mechanics in repair/overhaul procedures as needed.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess and remove damaged aircraft structural components.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft structural repair situations
  • Remove damaged aircraft structural components and prepare structures for reinstallation.  
  • Measure, mark, drill, fasten and fabricate designated components for repair and fabrication.  
  • Plan and install sheet metal with supportive framework as designated through blueprints, technical manuals and work orders indicate.  
  • Facilitate both computerized and non-computerized equipment to make custom pieces or components according to specification.
  • Must be able to assess or make appropriate staff aware of equipment readiness, including set up and operation of special tooling and machines. 
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings with standard tolerance designations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Supervisory functions of entry and intermediate level sheet metal mechanics
  • Ability to take instruction and guidance 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Education, Skills and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.  Emphasis in Algebra, geometry, physics, mechanical drawing or general shop
  • Completion of a Trade School, Apprenticeship program, Military School, or On the Job Training Program in metal working and/or Fabrication 
  • 10+ years of related experience, C-5 experience preferred. 
  • Experience and thorough knowledge of all materials used in repair of Aircraft and their components a plus.
  • Able to read weld/assembly blueprints with an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance callouts.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal tooling, equipment, materials and processes.  Within an aviation environment is required.
  • Ability to paint aircraft parts and weld is a plus.  
  • Must have flexibility to work any and all assigned shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.  
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous physical tasks which include bending, stooping, kneeling and working overhead for consistent periods of time.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality systems
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills to effectively interface with all levels of staff, customers, and government representatives.
  • Excel in a team environment with high motivation for excellence.
