CMM Specialist - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting a CMM Quality Assurance Specialist to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. The position requires the candidate to be skilled at setting up and operating CMM and conventional inspection devices used for verification of precision metal parts and fixtures as specified on travelers, blueprints, drawing, templates, 3D models or pre-existing machine programs.  The position will require full operational capabilities with a Zeiss CMM and other metrology devices.  The successful candidate will be proficient at GD&T, capable of thriving in an ISO9001:2015/AS9100D environment, be responsible and professional.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Qualified candidate must have a strong working knowledge of metrology and measurement techniques and tools including calipers, micrometers, Height Gages, optical comparators, bore gages, gage pins, gage blocks etc…
  • Candidate must have (5) years of experience setting up and programming Zeiss CMM’s and be fluent in Calypso and Curve.
  • Excellent knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T 
  • Calibration experience a plus
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Good math skills
  • ASQ certifications such as CQIA, CQI, CCT are desirable
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willing to learn new skills when needed and assist in all areas of production
  • Internal auditing skills a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO / AS9100 a plus
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO/AS9100 Quality systems

Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma and typically requires a 2 years Technical/Trade school training or equivalent 
  • Preferred OJT training, Technical Programs or Certifications of Technical Training 
  • 5 years hands-on-experience with CMM programming and inspection methods

Manufacturing Engineer - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. This position requires experience in multiple areas of aerospace engineering focused in a production development environment.  The successful candidate will be involved in all activities from R&D, design, procurement, manufacturing and production, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction.  Strong knowledge and experience with SolidWorks, GD&T, fabrication of precision metal parts using multi-axis CNC machine tools and process optimization is required.  The position will also require great communication and organizational skills.  The successful candidate will be a responsible professional, a self-motivated leader who is capable of thriving in an ISO9001:2015/AS9100D environment.


Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Manufacturing Engineering
  • CNC Machining education and proven experience
  • Experience in production planning, fixture design, tooling and manufacturing
  • Experience in process logistics

Machinist I - Clearfield, UT (Full-Time)

General Summary

ES3 is currently recruiting a Machinist I / Entry Level Machinist to support multiple programs and long-term growth at our Materials Research and Development Center (MRDC) located in Clearfield, Utah. The position requires the candidate to be knowledgeable of setting up and operating both conventional and CNC Lathes, Mills, and/or other machines used for cutting, drilling, milling and boring to produce precision aerospace parts and fixtures as specified on travelers, blueprints, drawing, templates, 3D models or pre-existing machine programs.  The position may require executing simple programs on CNC Lathes and Mills using software systems such as Esprit or MasterCam. The successful candidate will have some basic knowledge of GD&T requirements and is comfortable working in an ISO2001:9008/AS9100C environment.  ES3 rewards staff members who are responsible, professional and have an excellent work ethic.


Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma and previous OJT training, Technical Programs or Certifications of Technical Training 
  •  2 Year’s Experience hands-on-experience with machine tool operations. Trade school or specific education can be contributed towards the 2 years required experience
  • Must have a general working knowledge of manual machining or NC and CNC multi-axis machines using pre-existing programs 
  • Knowledge and limited experience using Esprit or MasterCam software 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, adhere to written procedures and experience with ISO/AS9100 requirements, standards, and compliance issues
  • Must have some working knowledge of engineering prints including geometric dimensioning and tolerances

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
  • As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

  • Follow a pre-established fabrication sequence to fabricate parts to close tolerance specifications in a timely manner
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.

  • Must be able to apply knowledge and appreciation of ISO/AS9100 Quality systems

  • OD and Surface grinding capability is desirable but not a requirement

Project Engineer - Warner Robins, GA (Full-Time)

General Summary

Responsible for performing engineering projects for one or more of the following: Aircraft Systems, Aircraft Structures, Engine and Propeller, Landing Gear, Aircraft MRO Activities, and Material & Processing R&D. Demonstrate the ability to apply aircraft engineering principles and related disciplines to problem solving applications in a team-oriented work environment; the ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of design allowable and structural modeling as it relates to Aircraft Structures, Landing Gear Systems, Engine and propeller systems; perform review of detailed manufacturing plans, drawings and qualification test plans; conduct mechanical testing, chemical and environmental analysis for M&P development; work in a team environment and have excellent communication skills. Must be able to interact with; engineers, subcontractors, team members, and customers in a collaborative manner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, Qualification, Chemical and Mechanical Lab Testing (Fatigue, Adhesion, Micro Sectioning, Hardness, Porosity, Titration, Corrosion, Fluid Compatibility, etc.)
  • Design Engineering (FEA, Fatigue)
  • Engineering Drawings (AutoCAD)
  • Solid Modeling (SolidWorks, ProE, and/or CATIA)
  • Robot Programming (Fanuc and/or ABB products)
  • Technical Data Publication and Review
  • Perform other duties as requested 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Bachelors Degree (Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering) from an ABET accredited university or college. Masters Degree is a plus.
  • Entry Level to 2 years of related experience
  • Aerospace Industry experience a plus
