Toni joined ES3 as a subject matter expert in computational fracture mechanics and manufacturing, testing, and modeling of composite structures. He finished his Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Marco Salviato in the department of Aeronautics & Astronautics at the University of Washington Seattle. Toni is a technical expert in computational methods—being one of the main developers of the novel Discrete Model for Composites (DM4C) and lead developer of its faster implementation called FastDM4C. He has extensive knowledge in manufacturing methods (AM, FDM, AFP, VARTM, VBO) and his pioneering work led to the use of composites in foldable origami structures. He has 100+ citations and dozens of academic articles published. Toni holds a BA and MA in Music from the National Conservatory of Music in Pesaro, Italy.
